Y2K

Y2K is a mixed media project that investigates Generation Z’s nostalgia for past media technologies and aesthetics.

Through video interviews, members of Gen Z reflect on their personal connection to media of the past and how this fits into the present day. Each interview has its own dedicated VHS tape which is displayed as part of our installation.

Our interactive installation lets visitors critically reflect on the appeal of old media, as well as their drawbacks and their place in the 21st century.
