Seanch-E

Seanch-E is a mixed media narrative storytelling platform which uses video and animation to tell location based lesser-known Irish folklore stories. Ireland is teeming with untold stories, myths and folklore. We have curated four of our favourite stories in an effort to bring them to life and to make them more accessible to a wider audience. We aim to to take these stories which may have only been told orally in the past and bring them new life culturally through the addition of a visual form of storytelling. We have created four distinct videos and animations, each geographically specific with their own charm told by experienced story tellers or seanchaí.

Our ultimate aim is to create a platform that stories from all over the country are showcased and given their own spotlight through the medium of video and animation. Narrative is the most important aspect to us for each of these stories and each element of the platform, from the animation to the website, is designed to enhance the narrative and to immerse the audience. Seanch-E is giving Irish folklore a new platform which will incourage a wider audience to explore the magical tradition of Irish Mythology.
